First let me say that I been using wp since windows ce 3.1 & wm 5 over 15 years ago. I like my 950xl a lot and I think it might be the best windows mobile device I ever had. I keep my 1520 as a media player and GPS since it has all my here settings saved on it.
I been using my 950xl for 2.5 weeks and love it. The screen is nice, it's faster than my 1520, qi charging is back, the camera is awesome, it feels better in my hands being lighter with round corners.
I picked up my 1520 to go for a jog since I haven't transferred all my music yet. I instantly liked the volume/power button placement even though I got adjusted to the new phone. I noticed while a little slower, the 1520 doesn't heat up as much from normal use. I also really miss the capacitive buttons. I am used to on screen but after using capacitive buttons again I miss it. I first thought to swipe up but realized I didn't need to. I also miss double tap to wake.
Are these deal breakers? No, I still recommend the upgrade. I miss these things but they are a small sacrifice to have the 950xl. Hope fully the next phone will address all these things.
It also made me realize that after 2 years the 1520 is still a decent phone. I still enjoy using it and still think "this phone is pretty nice"
