16 (May be more) REASONS TO THINK AGAIN BEFORE PURCHASING LUMIA SERIES....!!!

Is Windows Phone such a radical depature from how other modern, mobile operating systems function that people cannot just sit and attempt to figure things out for themselves without resorting to such foolishness?

If within 24 hours of purchasing a phone you don't like it, return it. You are actually going to know within the first 10-15 minutes if you will like using a particular device, but I always tell people to spend more time than that if they can. First impressions tend to be the most memorable, so if your gut is telling you that this isn't the phone you have been waiting for then move on. Put yourself in some real world scenarios with the phone, don't just browse the calendar on the phone in the store - add an appointment to the calendar 15 minutes into the future and have the alarm go off. Is it loud? Loud enough? Really? Can you hear me?

Make a call on the phone. How does it sound?

Go to your favorite (within reason) website using Internet Explorer. Did it load correctly?

Type some text messages to other phones in the store - how does the keyboard feel?

If people could be bothered to actually do some basic comparison shopping and research what matters the most to them when purchasing a handset half of these threads would be way more constructive.

Point 1 - Microsoft allows browsers like UC broswer but they are actually running the IE Engine underneath in simple terms. Mozilla actually commented on this saying that they'd like to run their own engine but can't hence they have dropped their plans until the support kicks in. THey are making one for Windows 8 though ... yawn ... sometime next year

Would love a reference to an official rule here. I know this is the case on iOS, but didn't think it was on WP.

Getting Firefox to compile would be a lot fun given the platform differences, but there's a good chance all the VLC work for RT will really help make it easier to get something working within the next year.
