500 Days of Nokia Lumia 800

I'm proud to say that i have completed 500 days with my Nokia Lumia 800 and the phone is in the same condition as it was on the day i bought it.
Well it was a rough start as everyone was doubting my decision to buy Nokia Lumia and telling me to go for some crappy android phone, but it was love at first sight when i saw a black Nokia Lumia 800 in a Nokia Store in my vicinity. Such a gorgeous phone, fluid OS, excellent camera! The live tiles were too sexy to neglect and just bought it. There was not a single place where people questioned me that which phone it was :wink: i loved showing off my Lumia, taking pics, listening to songs, playing games. Then i got another Lumia 800 for my girl friend too and she was also in love with the phone (and me too). It is really a gorgeous phone. She used to be a rough user and drop it here and there but the phone was still working (few scratches). I used to take good care of my cell and till date there is not even single scratch on my cell. I would research everything and anything abot windows phone and lumia, over here at Windows Phone central. All of my problems, doubts, issues, etc. everything was cleared over here. I used to read newsfeed and browse forums from the wpentral app on my Lumia. It really helps a lot. I would like to thank everyone and anyone who is behind Windows Phone central, you guys are doing a great job! Keep up the great work and if you've an extra Lumia 920/925/928 then please send it to me :winktongue:

I'm guessing the tiles are different colours? Otherwise it could just get confusing.

Great to hear about people taking care of their phones. It seems like you're looking to try to get a 92x for the next 500 days then?

Hahahah, we had many mix ups in the beginning, but then we decided to sort it out with the help of silicon case that came with the phone. She always used to keep her cell in the case and i used my phone without any case and that case also kills the looks of the phone so i never used it. At times when our cells are without any case then i used to identify mine by looking at the screen itself coz her lumia's screen was all smudgy and i had an OCD habit of keeping my screen clean all the time. So it helped a lot

I want to buy a lumia 920 but saving on money to pay my college fees. So every time i pass by the Nokia Store in my area, i just look away and walk by, its too hard to resist but so far so good. Once in a store, i was so carried away by the lumia 920 and all the looks and features and the camera, that i almost bought it. As in i gave my credit card for payment but reality slapped me in the face and i faked a call on from lumia 800, saying a friend had an accident and i took my card and rushed out of the store :winktongue:

Since i bought my Lumia 800, i have helped many of my friends and work colleagues to convert to Nokia Lumia
I have explained the camera app, cinegraph,music app, fixed many problems, did everything for people who asked me for help with their Lumia. Back then when i first bought my Lumia, i was the only one with a windows phone but now i see at least 3 out 10 people with windows phone and there is already 3 guys in my office with windows phone and many in the bus i travel too. It feels good to see this community expand and people realize what an amazing phone it actually is.

Nice! I have also had my L800 for (at least almost) 500 days. I actually got mine the day before it was officially released in Sweden. I don't know why, but I got it early from my carrier! :smile:

nice, i had pre-ordered mine at my local Nokia Store and got it on the day of release in India. How's the condition of your lumia now?

Glad to see OP enjoying your Lumia 800. The Lumia 800 is still one of my favourite WP device. I love its design, and its size. Even though the N9 had similar hardware, the Modern UI suits the hardware design better. I liked it so much I had it in 3 colours. I recently got a Lumia 520 for my Mom, and she seems to be liking it. Thinking of getting the 720 for my Dad.

What particular carrier gave it to you "early"? What date? I remember that I got mine 31th January 2012 through "3" in Sweden.

I don't remember the date, but I will try to find that out. I bought it from Telia

Awesome man. I've had my Lumia 800 for about a year and a half now (got it in December 2011 I think) and it has served me really well. It's still in really good condition considering I haven't used a case for it.
