he has a phone with 8gb memory probably, in which there is just 4.7gb user available. So 1.4 gb is quite much.

I'm not denying that. I'm saying there could be something else eating up memory. People with storage bugs usually have several gigabytes of other storage.

I had thought of that. But if overnight it fills up 500mbs, then its not normal. I have a 520, with asphalt taking up 1.4 gb and lots and lots of other apps. Maps are on sd, and so are music and pictures. Others is 1 gb. Yet i have 400-500 mb free.

If you are coming from dev. 3 preview, only way to free it up is hard reset.

You can backup/restore texts and apps/games from settings, vids and pics from usb.
Except a little bit of work, it's really no biggy. Either that or just keep looking at your other storage space, cause shrink storage doesn't work at all.

Instead of all the trouble just install one app-Shrink Storage.And before using this app first manually clear the other storage in ur Settings.Good luck.

Tried this app several times but never does anything on my device...hope you have more luck with it.

Ok try this..forward the date on your phone to like August 2014, now try cleaning space with the built in tool

I'd say forward it to something like the year 2045...that also works with removing glance feature on L520
