The one I got from Amazon is not unlocked, it is an AT&T phone so it will work on AT&T and T-Mobile plus a few others. As I am on AT&T thats fine with me.

Even if locked at $50 its still worth it even if you just use it as an mp3 player and gps navigator. Don't really care about it being locked, I will get one just to use as a 70GB mp3 player using a 64gb microSD.
The irony of it is that the microSD will cost nearly as much as the phone, unless you have some lying around from digital cameras or other devices.
