Both Android and iPhones already have 64-bit phones, although they do not impress me much since they pack <4 GB RAM. Now I'm wondering if when is the possible time that MSoft will support 64-bit OS on their phones? If ever I'm going to upgrade my 1520, I want a very substantial upgrade, not only in terms of camera and processor.

There will probably be one as soon as Qualcomm releases its 64bit processor. The kernel surely can handle it. so beginning of 2015 we should see the first 64bit phones coming up and hopefully some early adopters sort the issues out for all of us

The thing is, Qualcomm already released some. Anyway, I'm not in a rush to upgrade my 1520. I think it can last a couple of years more. Time flies fast when you're already old...

I would assume the next batch of WP in 2015 will be 64bit, at least midrange. Snapdragon 400 which is used in Lumina 630/5, 730/5 and 830 already has the newer x64 Snapdragon 410 available as a replacement, so there's no good reason Microsoft will choose a non x64 part when the x64 ones cost them the same and serve to future proof a device.
