640xl outer glass cracked.

touch and display are working without any issue. Found a replacement glass on eBay for Rs.500. But the local technician says its not possible to replace only the outer glass as there is a risk of damaging touch screen digitizer. He is suggesting me to replace entire display system which would cost around Rs.2500. Any suggestions in this regard is appreciated. Thank you

Your technician is right, separating and replacing ONLY the glass on most devices these days is very difficult and not worth it. Replace the whole display system.

I also see that you have a screen protector on the phone that's damaged, is the glass under that damaged? If it is, then continue.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the glass under the protector is damaged. I didn't remove the protector to avoid further damage.
