920 didn't survived the water

Hello. Need some advice, please! I don't wanna buy a new phone.

Today I played Songkran so I got a bag for my 920 to protect it.
Yesterday everthing was fine. Unfortunate a little bit of ( apparently enough) water got inside the bag today and now my phone is dead.
Can't turn in on anymore. Nothing works right now! I already removed the sim slot and wrapped it in a towel and a blanket to get the water out.
Any other suggestions?

Put the phone in a bag of rice and cover it entirely for 1 or 2 days. The rice will absorb all the moisture. You could also try to open it taking out the 2 screws at the bottom and let the parts dry under direct sunlight for an entire day.

Those 2 methods always worked for me with other phones I owned. I never had to do this on my L920 so far... Haven't dropped it in water yet.... Crossing my fingers... lol

Have you tried placing your phone in a bowl filled with rice? That's usually the best way to save a smartphone when it gets wet. Although I think you have to do this ASAP or it may not work. :-/ Try it anyway, though. Good luck!

Yeah generally when that kind of thing happens it's a good idea to remove any SD cards or SIM cards from a device and stick it into a re-sealable plastic bag with some (fill about 1/4 of the bag) dry rice in it and the rice should take some of the moisture out of the wet phone. As metalchick719 says do it ASAP and maybe leave it for a day or so near a heat source (note: not too close or it could damage the phone). Hope your phone comes back to life soon! Also in a day or so try turning it on and if there's no response try to turn it on with a soft reset (volume down button + power button held down together until the phone vibrates.

Put the phone in a jar of rice, completely covered top to bottom. Rice will act as a extractor, literally pulling whatever moisture that's still there.

Do not try to charge until at least two days of your phone being in the rice.

This should work.

This thing with rice won't work anymore, it helps immediatelly after the accident, not 1 day after.
What u must do now is to dissasemble the phone, disconecct the battery, and find some1 who has an ultrasonic tub. THIS thing is the ONLY thing that will get the moisture to vaporise. It is not a quick process, usually last for a day or so.
After that, reassemble the phone, say ur prayers, and power it on. Hopefully it will work for several months, then it will just die and thats it. U cannot do anything about it, the water corrodes the motherboard, and it is progressive. The damage has been done, and cannot be undone, it can be slowed down!
Sorry mate, but thats how things are.
I know about this stuff, have been working with water daamged phones for a couple of years

Hey everyone.
Used the rice method, additionally because there was still some moisture on the battery I screwed the phone up and put it into the rice again.
Now it works again even all my pictures are still there. Also the dust under the FFC is gone.
Thanks for the tip!

How long does it takes for you until screen appears when you press the power button? Got 1.8 sec it feels slightly slower than before.

I hate to say it but there is nothing you can do to fix it.

Liquid damage is something you never want. You literally have 3-5 min to get your phone as dry as possible. After that oxidization starts to happen and you guessed it, when this touches metal it starts to rust. At this time the damage has already been done, and there isn't anything you can do about it.

Common myth that people think you can repair this type of damage days after it has happened. And even if your phone seems to work OK because of the type of damage it is, its unpredictable and can fail on you at any moment without a warning.

I repair phones half of the time at work and this is always the case. There have been miracle cases once in a while but those are to few in between.

I know I am the barer of bad news but, I don't like when people have false hopes.
