Does anybody know if the 950 XL will work with Straight Talk.
My Icon does and the specs show that they have the same CDMA bands and data speeds.
If I go to a AT&T store and put my sim in a 950 and I get data connection would that be a good test.

Straight Talk can be confusing. It is an MVNO distributed only online and by Walmart. Straight Talk uses one of all 4 major US carriers, depending on which phone and/or SIM card you choose.

The 950XL does not have the same bands as the Icon. The Icon is a Verizon phone, so it is obviously capable of Verizon's CDMA bands. Not so for the 950XL. Are you confusing WCDMA with CDMA? They are not the same.

But to answer your question, if you're using AT&T service on Straight Talk, the 950XL will work. The Icon works on Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile, so without knowing which service you're using, we cannot tell you for sure if the 950XL will work. I assume from what you wrote about the AT&T store that you're using AT&T's service through Straight Talk. If so, the 950XL is good to go.

Thanks for the reply.
I do know for sure that my Icon is using Verizon towers and I will only purchase the 950 XL if it can also. Because of the remote area I live in I only get Verizon signal all the time
Thanks
