950 XL Woes

Multiple issues... Cannot use maps or uber app. Says i have no gps location even though it is showing as on. AIDA64 show the sensor, but just not working... Hard reset or Recovery tool at this point? I feel that is my only hope. It has been going on for a while now. I'm on 15063.608 for Windows version. Firmware is at 10178.00053.16236.35006.

Issues with Edge browser also. resolved by reboot for a while then back to the same issue...

WDRT more than likely if you already tried a soft reset and it didn't start working again.

@GLWeeks, a hard reset can really increase the performance of your 950XL, it did my. My only suggestion is take screenshots of you Start screen, and ALL the data stored in any apps; that way you have the info on the other side. And don't forget to Back-up 'everything' first!

Would recommend against the restore though, I have yet to have a good restore experience on my 950XL.

Ya the restore is relative to the user. I use like 4 or 5 apps consistently. They always come over fine and populate the start screen just fine too. If any of the apps though are Legacy (WP8) they may mot restore well. Not all the settings come over on the restore too sometimes. Overall though after a hard reset my 950 XL, or any other device for that matter are like a new phone.

Thanks for all the advice. Did the hard reset and the MAPS app is still showing no GPS signal. In AIDA64, i show the following sensors: Accelerometer, Altimeter, Barometer, Gyroscope, Magnetometer.

Is the Recovery Tool my last hope? Thanks again...

Why are you sticking with such an old version of W10M?

And yes, I would try reflashing the firmware if nothing else works, It might be that your GPS receiver/antenna is not working right.

Honestly, I didn't know this was old. Thought it was the last public release.

Thanks, I guess i will move toward using the recovery tool & reflashing firmware. Not sure when though, Hard reset took like 3-4hrs to complete updates and such.

Soooooo... After getting 10.0.15254.1, it looks like I may be back to square. I show all the other sensors that i was missing before. Maps is showing 'My Location' as a starting point. I will try it out after work and report back.
