950xl battery life.

Has anyone else noticed that the battery life on the 950xl is pretty poor? Maybe its just the build of windows 10 mobile that it's on, but it seems to deplete quickly... Anyone else?

I had some initial problems with battery drain but was able to drastically improve battery life by restricting which apps could run in the background. Seems like a no-brainer but it is something that I never thought of in WP8 but have had to pay closer attention to in W10M.

Yes, I was going to post about this exact same subject. It's pretty horrendous right now. Just got mine last night, took it off the charger for about an hour this morning, I'm at 79% so far. Not pleased, hope they come out with an update for it very soon.

Mine is awesome. I have 1 email that pushed "as messages arrive", 2 other email that sync every hour, NFC off, location on, at least 3 bars of reception, auto-brightness on, Windows Hello OFF, Hey Cortana OFF, went to battery saver and disabled background tasks for the apps I rarely use, and I did not restore my phone from a back up instead I used a clean slate. I get roughly 9 hours of moderate usage. Thankfully this thing charges up in roughly an hour! ;-)

Yes it is set to download images and formatting.

I forgot to add that since the screen is amoled I am using a dark home screen image.

There are several reports of poor battery life for the 950 too in a different thread. In a couple cases replacing the unit seemed to have helped.

I honestly forgot about "Hey Cortana" that probably uses a bit of battery... I should turn that off. Yesterday, I worked 10am til 8pm, and phone was on 20% at 8pm. While I can normally deal with that, it's hard when the charger isn't a common charger... I'll need to carry a portable charger :/

So I went ahead and turned off "Hey Cortana". Hone has been unplugged since 1:30 pm. It's now 6:45 pm and at 72% (moderate use) Turning off "hey Cortana" worked. Still drains a little quicker than I'd have hoped for though.

System...Battery Saver...Battery Use...may help some of you figure out if rogue app or something is causing a problem.

Thanks I actually make my battery saver turn on at 50% and it's helped the phone last much longer throughout the day. Without it, it seems like it will drain really fast with moderate use. I will try to look at battery use and see if that uncovers anything.
