Next 950XL update should fix problem of apps being unable to register themselves for background and/or unable to push notifications. Most of my apps notifying normally stopped doing so after last couple of updates.:grincry::confused::crying:

So sorry to hear that, did you do a soft reset, after encountering these issues? You can soft reset your device by holding down volume down + lock key until phone reboots. :)

I don't always receive notifications either. Occasionally but it's very hit and miss. One thing that seems to help is changing the notification tone through Windows settings rather than using the apps built in tones.

Also, something else that helps. For the apps that you losing notifications on go to the battery settings and change it from Windows managed to Always allowed in the background.

My problem is that some apps that used to be listed as running in background, no longer are in background list and there is no way to add them there even after reinstalling them and making sure app options properly set to notify & run in background. Only after an app's name is recorded in the list of background apps it will be possible to customize its sound after first instance of notification occurs so apps name is added to Sounds list otherwise Sounds list also does not show those apps. So I have:

  1. Several apps BG option=set but not found in BG list >> not in Sounds list >> no notifications
  2. Several apps BG option=set & found in BG list but not found in Sounds list >> no notifications
  3. Several apps BG option=set & found in BG list as well as Sounds but are as dead no sound
  4. 1 or 2 apps of case 3 can start notifications FOR A WHILE after battery removed/replaced/restarted again.

Hence MS needs a major remedy for this expensive phone that I only have it for few months.

I believe you said you tweaked your phone, using insider builds.

Since the notification issues you have are not widely reported, maybe that has something to do with it. Or you have a defective phone. Or both. Or neither.

I never used insider updates yet.

This sounds weird... I have never heard of this before. Do you have screenshots of what you are seeing? That may help with finding out what exactly is going on
