A few questions

will apps ever be able to update everytime they get notification e.g 6snap only notifies me every 30 minutes or so, same with the battery apps, so will this be fixed in 8.1? secondly on my lumia 925 i've got black streaks/lines when you look at the screen in a dark room and i understand this is caused by the type of screen it has, but if i change the outer layer of the screen will it go away

From my understanding, the update interval on notifications is 30min on all WP's
Not sure if this will be updated to real time in 8.1.

I have no idea, I would take it back and see if they can show you a different one and see if it does the same.
If you have a screen guard (film cover for the screen), maybe that is doing it? Get a better one if that is the case.
