hard reset taken now 14 hours on my Nokia Lumia 720, why is it taking so long?

Hi guys,
my back, home and search button has been tempermental the last few days, so decided to back up and do a hard reset, now 14 hours later still in hard rest mode, is there anyway that I check the progress of it or stop it, feel so lost without it?

First plug into power... Not USB, AC wall plug.

Soft reset and it will restart the flash process. (Hold Volume Down + Power buttons until the phone vibrates and reboots - about 10 seconds).

Since you are loosing data anyway, why not just flash a clean copy of the OS and Firmware?

Use the second tool from this help page and enable the "phone will not boot or respond" option.
