A question about Update 1...

I have a weird question: Is it necessary to sign up for 8.1 GDR1 DP with the same account as used for the April 8.1 preview? What about those who made an app studio account, updated to DP, and forgot their password etc. ?? Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question

Didn't affect my Cyan on 1520. As for forgetting your password for app studio there should be a password recovery option on the website.

Use Microsoft account for registration with which your mobile has been added. I think it should not great any problem.

The thing is, I DID update to DP,8.1 back in April. Still have it. Now I want to update to Update 1 but I've Forgotten the App Studio Account Password...

Make a new Microsoft account, sign into app studio, register. Then uninstall and reinstall preview for developers. And sign in. Success!

Why would your central Microsoft account change in the first place.Try the idea first and see what happens.

Well that's what you do to make a new app studio account however your phone is already registered with your old one. Your central Microsoft account can never change unless you reset the phone and sign in with another one.
