A Red Light flashes when unlocking Lumia 520 build 10512

Every time I unlock my phone, a red light flashes at the right of the Nokia logo (maybe a sensor). I don't know why, can someone tell me what does it do?

Should it light when I unlock? Also when I change the brightness to Automatic it lights up.

you can ignore it for the most part.

Can't promise anything, but it may just be checking to make sure you didn't somehow pocket-unlock. I'm not seeing that behavior on my 640 though.

I see a flashing red light on my 640, on the right side if the front camera, but not when unlocking its when the screen is off
