Activesync keeps prompting for password

After connecting to my Exchange mailbox (through my company on Exchange 2010), I randomly get prompted that the password is incorrect and to re-enter it. Entering my domain password works and it continues syncing for a little while. Oddly enough, backing out of the prompt without entering my password will allow it to sync.

I've tried creating a new EAS policy that requires a password, encryption etc...but no change. Androids and iPhone don't have this issue. We've even got a couple Surface RT tablets that don't do this. I am the only one with a WP8 device.

Something I noticed while looking through our threat management gateway logs is that my Lumia 920 doesn't display device info like the Androids and iPhones. Not sure if this has any effect on this issue.

We are experiencing a similar problem with windows phone, but this affects all versions of Windows Phone in my office. It started around the same time that we changed our ip address on the TMG, so I have written it off as a misconfiguration on my part. I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot it yet. Seems to happen more on my 920 though, I get two in a row.

I am experiencing the same problem. This came when I switched to an HTC 8x, had a lumia 900 before

I have the same problem!

Switched from Samsung GS3 to Lumia 920.
Phone keeps asking me after the password from time to time (1-2h).

I use an exchange service from the provide...any ideas how to solve that???

thanks in advance

P.S. I also use my companys exchange without any problems...

It turned out to be a very small configuration change on our TMG. I posted on the TechNet forum for TMG and got it resolved quickly.

WP8 device in TMG log

The forms auth timeout may affect ActiveSync. Please open the web listener of your ActiveSync rule, go to properties>Forms tab>Advanced> and make sure “apply session timeout to non-browser clients” is unchecked.

Hi,

is this still an issue with new versions of WP8? Had a similar issue with my BB Q10, and want to switch now to 1020. Was not able to get my BB Q10 running as my company IT Department is not willing to change configuration of TMG. Thanks for a hint if this still pesists.

Thanks !

I'm also experiencing this issue. I'm in the process of deploying Windows Phone 8 Nokia Lumia devices for use with Exchange ActiveSync. We're using an F5 Big-IP device as a reverse proxy, but with no pre authentication.

Phones are being rolled out but within the last few days some users have started getting the user details/password prompt issue. These are new devices, new SIMs, as the user are migrating from Blackberry.

The problem seems to be quite random in respect of what and when users are affected. I have seen some devices that return an actual error code but the majority just present the user with the user details/password box.

I've come across this article which implies that WP8 devices are susceptible to synchronisation with EAS:

https://expertcentre.nokia.com/en/a...Synchronizing-Mailbox-on-Windows-Phone-8.aspx

It might be being caused by something entirely different but based on the similar experiences that I've come across on the web to date, it does seem that it's more of a bug with WP8 rather than the particular MDM solution that I've deployed?

Any advice, feedback, suggestions, etc, would be most appreciated!

Cheers

Nik.
