Very few people have ever owned a DVP. And fewer have ever had anything but a flawed handset. The device had so many issues. You sound like you're in the minority.
Some of my issues were resolved with firmware updates, but not all.
Shame because it is a beautiful looking piece of hardware, has a nice amoled screen with colors bursting everywhere, and that portrait-slider keyboard was better than anything Blackberry put out.
