After Update: Photos not shown!!

Hi,
I upgraded my 620 to WinPhone 8.1. After installation it fails to find any photos i have taken or copied to the phone apart from the one I have copied after the installatation process.
However, the file manager on my desktop reveals that the photos are still there and visible on a PC.
How can I feed back their existence to WinPhone?
(Copying them to the phone again will probably destroy their date tag.)
