Alarm Volume Day Time Volume

Hey,

One thing that I loved about my iphone was that the alarm went off even with the phone on silent.

When I turn this device up loud for the alarm it works fine however then I must remember to turn it down for work and up again in the evening which is a nightmare. Any way around this so its silent during working hours and loud outside of work automatically?

Yes. There's nothing to stop you from using the Quiet Hours feature and set the quiet period to be your working day. This has the added benefit of not bothering you with texts/calls from people you don't want to hear from while you're working.

That sounds perfect... I might be being really thick where is this setting?

Its a component of the Cortana feature. You should find the option in settings->Quiet hours

I have my phone on silent and my alarm works fine. It worked for me on both WP8 & 8.1

Official UK Cortana is only available with the Developers Preview (update 1 of 8.1)

If you are on the standard 8.1 update, you need to change settings to be US

Not noticed any negatives myself yet, just the added bonus of having Cortana available, this is on a 6 month old 925

alarm sound doesnt depend on ur volume settings.....actually u cant evn set alarm sound in a windows phone...its by default in full volume
