Alert ringtones for alarms, but not text?

How come I see more options under alarm ringtones than under ringtones for texts? Makes no sense...

by options, you mean the ringtones or types of settings?

Right. I see more ringtones under alarms, than under setting text ringtone under a contact. Very odd... Plus the extra ones I do see would be way more appropriate for texts than what they actually offer...

I have the same number for both alarms and text (17 each). What OS build are you on?

Editing a contact's text tone gives me like 55 to choose from. Editing a alarm gives me about 120.

since you're using a lumia 950xl, you might be having more ringtones than I do on my lumia 1020

Connect your phone to a pc, go to my computer/pc and open your phone. You'll see 6 folders - my documents, pictures, music, videos, downloads and ringtones

Alternatively, you can also go to apps list, file manager app and from there you can check which folders you have in the phone
