All Apps black overlay still not fixed in 10586

Not fixed in .107 / 820 either. This bug is clearly not a show stopper, but is visible and should be "relatively easy" to correct...

Could someone tweet Gabe about this? Does it work in 950/550?

We're not on the redstone branch yet, which is why we're only seeing a few (mainly non-visible) stability updates.

People actually want that black overlay? I thought the point of finally having background images was to see them.

That gigantic search box at the top and the app list shoved to the left... No wonder they fired most of their team.

There must be transparent dark overlay to make app names visible with bright backgrounds.

You know that's not true with the rest of the OS. The lock screen doesn't have a dark overlay for example. The background is just darkened slightly to prevent text from being blown out. No ugly black shade effect there.

Never noticed it before either. But I have my start screen picture set to "tile"
I can understand why people get so upset though, because it's such a life changing bug :-(

it seems it's a big challenge to fix this bug because MS is aware of it but didn't fix it yet (even after many many subbuilds of 10586.x). it kind of bugs me too but then it does not really have an impact on my workflow
