My phone has generally been great. That said, I've come across issues from time to time. I've found a dead phone in the morning a couple of times. I've also had the phone spontaneously restart while charging wirelessly, but it's also rare.
The one pattern I've noticed is that the problems seem to coincide with gaming sessions. If I use the phone for normal stuff and very light gaming I won't have problems. The moment I start spending evenings on some graphically intensive game that heats up the phone the issues arise. I tend to think that the issues are directly related to the phone getting so warm for a prolonged period of time.
I know that the hardware in the Lumia 920 is fairly common, found in quite a few devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S3, the HTC One S, and the Blackberry Z10. From what I've seen there are consistent complaints with all these phones getting hot during gaming. Whether, it's more prevalent with the Lumia is hard to say. Nevertheless, there's an issue at the hardware level meaning that no amount of patching will ever fix it. Well, they could cap performance to keep these phones running cooler, but framerates would suffer.
But my point is, if I keep gaming to a minimum my experience with this phone is consistently great.
