Amber install failure: 8018830f fault code

It finally booted up after having drained the battery overnight and numerous attempts at hard resetting it again this morning. This has happened to me before, but it would be up and running again within hours, not a whole night.

I tried getting the update again but i still get the 8018830f error, so hard resetting the phone wont help.

Think I'll make use of this annoying delay to hand the phone in for service for an unrelated issue. May as well not bother with all of this now if they'll give me back another refurbished phone anyway, like they did the last time.

Just called Nokia Care in Norway. They are aware of the problem, and are investigating this. They will post an update on their Facbook page about the matter, when they find out more.
It is mainly Telenor in Norway that have this issue. :unhappy:

Hi

I had the same issue, 24 hours of cogwheels.
The solution was very simple, at the cogwheels animation press:

1. Volume up
2. Volume down
3. Power
4. Volume down

The animation will continue for a couple of minutes (no more then 5 minutes) and then it will show the setup menu.

Can you guys check the current OS version? Is it xxx.000# or xxx.200#? Cause seem like someone figured out only xxx.000# has this issue (mine too). Look to the schedule and only see almost xxx.200# is ready for 920, only a few countries has xxx.000# as Ready..

Edit: Oh, forget it... It's just from GDR to Amber... So, still stuck and suck

Won't Connect With my phone.. The amber update also appears to be pulled by Telenor... Anyone else experiencing this?

Nokia site still says it's available.

I thought I would be smart and got a NetCom SIM card.....but either they have pulled it from NetCom also or it knows that it's a Telenor phone and connects to Telenor anyway.

Well, it was worth a try :excited:

The same happened to me, I had to send it for repaire :unhappy: It was impossible to make it stop spinning the ?Wheels? after a reset.

The update is available again (Telenor Norway), downloaded 100% and prepared for installation 100% - this however took atleast 5-10 minutes before it finished, so be patient.

Edit. Update finished:)

After a massive amount of feedback about this problem, the update was withdrawn. Today it was back again when I checked for phone updates again on my Nokia Lumia 920, and now both my wife's 920 and my own are now updated without any problems. Well done!
