Amber Update one more day until the deadline

Apple controls all updates for their phones.

Google sells a phone direct, they control all the updates for that phone.

Why can't Microkia do the same thing? Just offer me ONE ************ phone a year I can walk into a Microsoft Store and buy without fear of this carrier ****!

Well, I asked this question in the forum, but no one seemed to answer it. What about the Lumia 9200 unbranded unlocked phone from amazon.com? No carrier connection and $350. I wonder where it gets it's updates from. I don't see any carrier free lumia 920 on Nokia's US update page.

I know carriers like to test updates (eventually) but the update model apple has for it's iphone is definitely something to envy

Also Nokia on twitter has been saying that it would be coming out in the next couple of weeks. At&t support told me today, it would be out the first week of October.
