And the Lumia device on Verizon is unveiled...

agreed, ugly... verizon has to better than that. htc 8x, is definately my next after this news. and the more i see that 920, the more it resmbles a huge brick.

Worst looking of the Nokia's. Will have to see the specs. Is the 8X becoming inevitable?

If the 822 does not have the screen and camera of the 920, then its all about who has the best screen and camera. If they are equal then, I'm going for the 822 because of the Nokia apps and support. If not, then it's the 8X

Has anyone seen the Nooks "exclusive " apps? Most of them aren't even exclusive. Grab a 900 and see for yourselves. Their accuweather is actually just an older version of the one in the marketplace. That said, I wish verizon was getting the 920.

How is it that so many people are damming this design with only 1 from picture? serious LOL's

Well, until they are more photos and info to show me that it is more to my liking, I'm going to call it damn ugly phone.

That's about the only one that doesn't make sense and have extra benefits to it. The Weather Channel app for Nokia is much nicer than the general one all WP users can get and of course all the mapping related stuff Nokia brings are great. Not to mention any exclusives like certain games and such that may be timed exclusives.

Nokia drive is on all wp8 devices and that's all I care about. A "prettier" weather app isn't going to sway me, nor is city lens, while neat , is a gimmick people won't use much.

Agreed! The only app that sounds interesting to me as an app that I may user regularly is Nokia Music. Still, depending on how Xbox Music pans out, Nokia Music doesn't sway my vote that much.

Wow. Me thinks its either 920 (922) or the 8x. The other Nokias look terrible.

Edit: i mean the one i am going to get.

I think I settled on the 8x, assuming the off contract price will be reasonable once it releases next month.

The only company that has promised to release the 8X at all is AT&T, not VZW. It is also specifically called out on HTC's web site as having AT&T as a carrier. I don't get why people insist on making assumptions about VZW releasing any quality phones soon. So far they are playing the same game as they did with WP7, and are now the only major player to not make some sort of announcement. I expect Christmas will have come and gone and people will still be waiting on the mythical top line phones from VZW. At the rate things are going, we will be lucky to see something at the level of a Trophy II.

u guys are nuts provided the specs are in line with the 810 and 820 you're getting a better camera, removable storage rather being stuck with 16gbs forever, wireless charging, Nokias exclusives and support, bigger screen than the 8x, better battery >>>>> 8X

the 8x is not that impressive to me I don't understand the hype behind that phone. This design on the 822isnt that bad at all just a more rounded shape I would go with this phone over the 8x how many times has HTC let us down before? Titan, titan 2, radar, trophys malfunctioning battery...

822 >>>> 8x

Ouch, it looks surprisingly decent next to the 710.

Are you sure it's a better camera? If it's the same shooter as the Lumia 800/900, I'm not positive it's better than the 8X camera. Also, assuming this is part of the 8xx line, it will have a WVGA screen and that will be ugly next to the 8X.

Yeah, I wouldn't be so quick to say that the camera will be better than the 8X. The 8X camera has a f/2.0 aperture for both cameras, while the 820 is f/2.2. Nokia doesn't even call it a PureView so I wouldn't expect great things from the camera. Also, HTC is advertising the 8X's dedicated image processing chip which I'm guessing would allow for quicker shooting, though we'll have to wait and see on that one.

Also, the screen is not bigger, it's the same size, except that the 8X has a higher resolution so it'll look better.

Better battery? The 820 is 1650 mAh vs the 8X's 1800 mAh.

Edit: basically what AngryNil said

Going off the specs of the 810

compared to the 820, the 810 has:

-Bigger battery (1800 mAh v. 1650), hence the thickness
-HD wide-angle front-facing camera (vs. VGA)
-Gorilla glass
-Weighs 15g less

So I would expect the 822 to have some of these features or close to it we'll have to wait and see.. As far as the screen size the 8x seems more narrow but we'll be able to compare them in person in a few weeks hopefully

But even still nokias support wireless charging, and storage slot >> 8x and htc's support.

That HTC hub hasn't been updated in a long time with any new apps
