This looks like a direct result of someone developing for iOS, then using Islandwood to port it over to Windows 10/Windows 10 Mobile. I hope to see a lot more of that in the future.

Here's a bit of an exercise in fun, if you will. (Not that I think it will play out this way, so just humor me.)

Since most of the highest quality developers tend to develop first for iOS (largely because iOS users are more likely to pay for apps, thus you get better clientele and make more money), if a good percentage of them begin the "comparatively easy" port to Windows 10 using Islandwood, then it could spell delays for Android or possibly one day a diminished app store for them. If you consider this route of iOS/Islandwood being a way to develop for iPhone/iPad, and all those iPad apps being easy to send to Windows 10 PC and iPhone apps to Windows 10 PC/Windows 10 Mobile with only minimal effort, it could within 3 years be giving iOS developers very easy access to over a billion extra users.

With porting of Android having suddenly become a "we'll wait and see what happens" (due to Astoria being put on indefinite hold), it could eventually spell serious trouble for Android. Yeah, I get it. Android is on like a billion devices now, however, think of what happens when Windows 10 is on over a billion devices PLUS count all the iOS devices. iOS developers might see this as a way to "dethrone" Android in the near future. It may be why Apple and Microsoft has become more amiable in recent time, with Microsoft helping out Apple on stage.

Not a bad move. If Android gets dethroned, then Windows 10 Mobile would quickly take 2nd place to iOS. iOS would continue to sell products to their "rich niche" but Androids rich niche may move over to Windows, and the budget phones would also go Windows if that happens.

That's a lot of "what ifs", but as many realities as there are according to quantum physics, it is already happening in at least one of them.
