Android (HTC Thunderbolt) V Windows Phone (HTC Titan) Boot Times

Trust me I am not advocating for Android or iOS. I am simply saying that if you're trying to assert superiority for Windows Phone the basis has to be factual and fair.

That said, it's pretty obvious that WP is better coded than either iOS or Android. It runs fast and without hitches on single core processors while the latest iOS needs dual core to run smoothly. Android Gingerbread if optimized right (Sense) runs good on single core but the latest iteration (Ice Cream Sandwich) pretty much needs dual core too.

But that said, the fact is that WP not having leading edge phones (with higher resolution and LTE) is holding the platform back.

The OS is well coded but at the moment it does significantly less than android and less than iOS.

Personally I don't measure performance in milliseconds so they are perfectly usable to me in the general sense. Where wp fails hard is the lack of a decent notification system, über slow push notifications for third party apps, limited communication with non smartphone users (like video mms), UI that tries so hard to be consistent that it makes everything look like a bad clone of the stock apps, and poor integration with microsofts desktop OS and live essentials apps.

The entire end to end experience matters much more to me than how smooth it is. It's probably always gonna be smooth. That won't change the face that a Mac user can import media directly from the iPhone in iLife while we have to perform significantly more steps to achieve the same workflow, among other things.

Maybe this will all be there in Windows 8 and Live Essentials Wave 5. But I literally cannot afford to wait that long.

When I seen how well the iPhone interops with macs, it was the first time I was embarrassed to own a windows pc and windows or android phone.

Despite them trying so hard to make the phone easy to use, the end to end experience (desktop to phone to web) is still unnecessarily complete and rather clunky.

There still isn't a decent way to manage albums in Photo Gallery and keep them in Sync with SkyDrive, for example... Something Picasa has no issues doing.

Oh. He could also control his apple tv and his music player which streams into 5 rooms with his phone. Yea. I was envious.

Agreed. I never claimed it was perfect and indeed notifications is the place where it needs to improve the most (Android cleans everyone's clock in that area).

I would say that in this era of smartphones integrating with the cloud that desktop OS integration is much less important than it used to be. With that said, Windows itself has the sync software built in for Windows Phones and microsoft has the Mac connector as a free download at its site.
