Any news about a possible 740/740XL?

The 640XL is making me so Greedy.

But after using a NL720, I don't want to go for a 6xx series.

Eagerly waiting for a 740/740XL.

1. Nope, nor would I expect a 740 XL.

Worth noting that the number 6xx isn't exactly the same across the generations.
(e.g. 635 was more in-line with the 520, the 530 was even cheaper, the 640 is fancier...)

So I think you'll like the 640 XL if its just the "6" you're worried about.

I would not look for more than one other XL model and I doubt it will come on the next number series (6xx to 7xx). Rather a 840 or 940 XL would be more reasonable to expect...

Agreed, and seems like Microsoft is doing a lot to keep their phones locked up until release. Which is both nice (we get a surprise) and sucks (there's no tease).

Lumia 440 would have 3 inch screen, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear camera, 2MP FFC.
Lumia 440L would have 4 to 4.5 inch screen, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear camera, 5MP FFC.

Lumia 540 is like Lumia 530 size + Lumia 535 spec
Lumia 540XL is like Lumia 535 with better spec (in camera, giving 8MP on rear camera)

Then 740 and 740XL, i think 740XL would have hardware button, instead of on-screen button.
Lumia 740 might feature 13MP PureView rear camera and 5MP FFC, 4.7 inch screen 720p HD.
Lumia 740XL will have 20MP PureView camera and 8MP FFC, 5.7 inch screen 720p HD.

840 would have 20MP PureView rear camera, 8MP FFC, 5 inch screen 1080p Full HD.
840XL would have 30MP PureView camera, 8MP PureView Camera, 6 inch screen 1080p Full HD.

940 would have 30MP PureView rear camera, 8MP PureView FFC, 5.5 inch screen WQXGA (2560 x 1600).
940XL would have 41MP PureView Camera, 10MP PureView FFC, (6~7) inch screen WQXGA (2560 x 1600).

I simply can't believe they will proliferate the concept across all model lines so rapidly. I'd lay odds on the above happening at 940,000:1.

Yeah, but doubling an already crowded device portfolio make no fiscal sense and confuses the uninformed consumer even further.
