Anyone able to unlock 521 purchased at MSFT store

Has anyone successfully unlocked a 521 phone purchased at a Microsoft Store? I've read conflicting things on the internet...
Going overseas and need the phone to be unlocked to use it.

If you are a T-Mobile customer and have their service for more than 60 days they will unlock it.
