To move up to a Venue Pro 11? I have to admit that I'm in love with this tablet (best piece of tech I've ever purchased) but there are times when I wish the screen were just a bit larger. That and perhaps that it had LTE (which is certainly not a deal breaker). Anyone else ever feel that way? Seems like the DV8P might be somewhat of a "gateway drug". :D

Yeah, as much as I'd love a Surface it's just a wee bit out of my price range, unfortunately.

I got a Lenovo Flex 10. Its not really a tablet, so to speak, but I flip the keys under, and its like a tablet I don't have to hold. 280gb HD. Win8.1 X64. Full size USB 2.0, 3.0 & HDMI.

I just might be selling my Surface in a few days. It's in pristine shape. I'll let you know..less than 175. :)

I looked at the DVP8 and the ASUS T100. I didn't like that I'd have to spend extra to make it into what I needed..

8" is the perfect size. 10" is simply too big, IMO. If I want to have a bigger screen, a 14" laptop or 24" desktop will do. Of course those never get carried out of my home. 8" device is easy to tuck away and carry with you.

BTW, I have the original Surface RT. It has now been largely unused since I got my DV8P.

Ah, but see for me if I had the 11 (and planning on possibly doing this with the 8 as well) I'm going to have it docked and hooked up to a 24" monitor and using it as my main PC when I'm at home, so I won't need a secondary machine. I think the 11 is just about the perfect portable size, but then again I'm about half blind with cataracts so I guess that's no surprise. To each their own.

Helluva deal. Regardless of the battery life, I'm loving my Lenovo Flex 10. $319.99 at Office Depot. I have it plugged in to my TV, right now, watching Bad Country. Later I'll flip it open for some GTA. Or maybe make some music with Fruity Loops. May even give coding a shot, since it runs 64bit W8.1.

Exactly, I built desktops for every corner of my house because I hate laptops. So, the only thing I need for DV8P is mobility. I have no use for docking station.

Same here. Before I bought my DV8P I borrowed my wife's Lumina 2520 to carry for a day. It was a bit too large for what I wanted. My Venue is the perfect size to keep with me at all times.

The only reason I'm not tempted by the Dell 11 is the Asus T100. That thing was $270 and is really a full convertible laptop.

Biggest problem I have with the base Surface is the lack of an Active Stylus option. While the original Stylus for the Venue series was garbage, the new one is quite good and useable. I doubt it's a great pen for artists, but it works well for general use. Not having one would be a deal breaker. So if I go to a larger tablet, it would be the Venue 11 Pro. Nice build, replaceable battery, and a good selection of processors. Plus the Rev A02 Stylus I have would work well with it.
