I know they haven't rolled it out to existing Arrive owners, but I'm wondering if a new one comes with 8107. I am considering recommending this to one of my clients, but I really don't need 50 people complaining to me about a disappearing keyboard. Doing the hack to get it really isn't an option due to the time involved.

I got my phone on Monday and it was still on wp7 and I had to wait for it to update a few hours later.

Hi Just got mine this week, did all the updates, there is no 8107 update available on the Arrive. The people at the Sprint store do not seem to intrested in this product at all. The guy working there at Sprint asked me to show him how to update the network profile after he stood there looking at the phone for 10 minutes.:dry

Same deal for me, earlier this year I had to get a new Arrive after my old one cracked on the slide up hinge piece. It came with the original Windows Phone shipping ROM (pre-Nodo) and had to be updated up to Mango (7720).

As for the reps, it was sad... when I picked up my first Arrive on launch day I had to show the rep how to install the battery. For the second Arrive, I had to do that AGAIN and show how to setup the device. This time, the rep asked about the phone experience versus Android and having owned both, I honestly said that Windows Phone is VERY fast, smooth and doesn't crash at all. My opinion was that it was a much nicer experience.

It seems that there was ZERO training for the device and when I visited the store, there was never a demo model of the Arrive or even a dummy unit. There was just a simple place card, describing the features and price. The Arrive's card was next to a bunch of feature phones while the iPhone had it's own display and the top-end Androids had their own display.

If Sprint doesn't get its act together by the end of this year, I'm gone... I'm just going to give them the rest of my contract to do so (end of October).

Same story here too. I 'upgraded' my wife's Evo to the Arrive a week ago and was assured by the sales staff that it would have the latest updates. It only had the NoDo. Still, I was pleased to even find one. A few days later I read an article about a possible new Sprint Windows Phone, the LG LS831. It figures. There wasn't much info about it but it looked more like a retread of an Android. I think I made the right choice anyway.

We're happy with our two Arrives.

By the way, my previous two phones were Samsung Intrepid and Samsung Ace. I still have the Intrepid for when I want to leave the country.

when I got my arrive ( which was more than a year ago ) the reps at my store knew about it and even carried one as their personal phone.. They were able to show me the ropes on mine and give some tips too... 1 in a million chance I guess

That would make sense, you said you got your Arrive ( "more than a year ago" ) the phone was a brand new product, launch time, they would be more interested in it. Fast forward one year later, they could care less, and haven't a clue, I wouldn't be surprised if the Arrive just disappeared all together, Sprint has a bad attitude towards WP all the way up the corporate ladder.

You can force upgrade with a few guides online, I HIGHLY recommend doing it. 8107 is very needed. Again FOLLOW ALL instructions to a T and you will be perfectly fine.
