Anyone know if 8.1 will have separate volume for notifications i.e. from email and phone?

Does anyone know if there will be a separate volume for the email, text etc from the phone ringing? I would like to keep the ring tone volume up and the other notifications low at times.

Let me take a look at the emulator and I'll get back to ya.

EDIT: Unfortunately, you can not give different notifications different volumes.

You can assign each and every notification its own custom sound (including no sound at all), chose whether or not it vibrates, whether or not it displays a banner, whether or not it appears in the Action Center, etc., but no separate volume for different notifications.

While notifications and apps have separate sound profiles, you can't chose separate sound profiles for each notification. Sorry.

Well, seeing as we have the emulator, why not ask and test it? Aside from bug fixes, the emulator is pretty much the final version of Windows Phone 8.1. Anyone can download it, I've been playing with it for several days now.

OK thanks for checking, maybe sometime in the future. It would be a nice function. I don't always want my notifications as loud as the ringer on the phone.

Perhaps. But for now, you'll have to settle for making other notifications silent altogether if you don't want them as loud as the ringer. (Or perhaps make the sound files for the other notifications quieter, hmm?).
