Anyway to backup everything?

Coming from an iPhone the thing I loved about iTunes was it synced and backed everything up, meaning that if you had to do a restore you just synced again and there you had everything back again, apps, messages, settings etc etc. Even if you deleted a song or something there it is backed up in iTunes just redownload.

Can you do this with Zune and WP7? I had a WP7 back when they launched and purchased a few apps, it won't let me download them now for my new device I had to pay again even though its the same account.

i miss the myphone service which was available in wm6.x, why did MS discontinue that in WP7 is beyond me

MS should fix this ASAP. All backup should be available to do on your self not just DATA backup...

Why do you have to buy your apps again? If you logged in with the same live ID you just chose buy app the next screen will say you have already purchased this app would you like it install it again. Is that not what you are seeing?

Latest reports are backup is coming with Tango. But yeah, it should've been there from day one. Before Mango you couldn't even save camera settings! If you wanted to record HD video, you had to change it every time.
