Apple/iTunes Synching Nightmare

The "Windows Phone" Apple app does not work for me. It gets the job done but I find the playlist system really poorly designed. I end up with a lot duplicate songs*, playlists don't sync correctly, etc. Podcasts work great but this is one aspect in which the phone really doesn't work for me... Aside from the 'MUSIC' tile are there other, better alternatives?

I'm about to get iTunes Match and am wondering if there's any alternative to my music and MP3s?

I love my phone in every other aspect but this is the one aspect in which I miss the iPhone.

P.S. Is there anyway to search for and delete duplicates on the Lumia to clear space?

Well, since everyone is chiming in, I just wanted to ask:

Is there a way within the phone to search for song duplicates and delete those? I think I've somehow ended up with a lot every time I sync my iTunes with "Windows Phone" app since I'm running out of space and really shouldn't be? :-/
