Apps without w10 upgrade

I have a Lumia530, so as I know, my phone won't get the w10 upgrade. Will I be able to download or buy apps from the store without upgrading my os? Will there be app upgrades/support for w8.1 after releasing w10 or will support be stopped in the future?

I think it really depends, after the Windows Phone 7/8 debacle the store still had WP7 apps. And there were some new apps that still supported WP7. but it was on a case-by-case basis.

As for MS, they have their plate full with 10 stuff, so 8.1 is probably going to remain as it is for the foreseeable future.
