Are SD photos protected

If you store photos on a WP8.1 SD card, are they protected like app data, or all visible for people who steal your phone? Thanks.

OK, thanks. My 920 doesn't have one of course... thinking about the 830. Let's hope WP10 brings Bitlocker to SD cards.
