I was thinking of buying a green 1520 and sticking with it until this "Note-Pad" "sketch-Book-like" Surface Mini/Surface Phone comes out, because iota sounds PERFECT for me. The thought of running full PC apps on my phone on the go on a 6 inch screen!

So how many of you are holding onto your colorful 1520's?

I'm actually thinking of dropping down to the 950. It's smaller, but it felt like the perfect size in hand and I don't feel like I was missing anything size wise. It felt just as big as the 1520 I guess

Im late to jump on this thread, sorry. Im holding onto my 1520 although mines not colorful, big black, bulky hard case im sporting to protect it from my clumsy self. I very much enjoy the size of this phone so while im eligible for an upgrade, the 950 is just not gonna be big enough for me, (to be fair tho Ive never seen or held 950 since would require a 2 hr drive to nearest store that would have one). Buying the 950xl just isn't going to be a financial option for me either & after paying off & being rid of all credit cards i most definitely wont be going that route so ill be holding onto my 1520 as long as it'll keep going.

I've been debating between buying a Green or Red 1520 in good condition or an equal or better android device and using it until I get to see that Surface mini/phone device come about.

The problem though is i want to stay above the 5.5 inch display range. Although the Nexus 6 & Galaxy Note seem to be the only high quality android devices above 5.5 inches.

I'm looking to spend under $300. The nexus 6 camera doesn't appear to be good and the note 4 is more expensive, a big less beautiful and runs touchwiz... I need a good camera though

Got my 950 today and it's like a fresh breath of air coming from my nexus 6.. I still have my red 1520 with a cracked screen and will look to fix it as a replacement for the 950.

By replacement do you mean backup? Or are you going back to the 1520?

Also how was the Nexus 6 in comparison to the 950

Yes as a backup.. I liked the nexus 6 a lot but not android.. Up to date on OS, huge screen, mediocre camera.. Battery was good.. Turbo charging..

I would recommend it.. Nexus devices are always good..

Ugghhh. I seriously having trouble knowing which path to take.

Nexus 6, 1520, or LG G4 are my current and final set of options. I will choose one of them and stick with whichever for the next year or so.

The LG G4 has Android, and great camera. The Nexus 6 has Android and a mediocre camera. The 1520 I buy will be on an unfinished and barely supported OS but will have the ultimate camera...

The LG G4 seems like the perfect balance in this love triangle, but man do I like having bigger screens. The LG G4 also doesn't look as good as the 1520 imo... Ahhh! Idk wut to do :(

You would at least get the 1520 for like $250/$300. Are the other two new phones? (I didn't look it up because I'm on my phone now)

Might pick up a 1520 to use as my daily driver for the foreseeable future.... Maybe until Surface Phone?

I love my 1520. I wouldn't have upgraded to the 950, except that my microphone failed on the 1520.

That's the one thing that worries me about it... Defects and faulty issues due to old age.

Nothing that a SquareTrade warranty can't fix though. Not to mention a green 1520 can't be any older than late fall 2014.

I am in the process of changing carrier, I bought my wife her 830 last year half way through a 2 year contract, it's still working fine with Windows 10 on it, and her contract ends this month, so going sim only.

To follow suit my contract ends March so I will be going sim only initially on my 1520, with a view to buying it's replacement when I figure out what that will be with a few possibilities, a 950, 950XL, any high end Windows device released by other companies or of course the rumoured Surface phone.

I have two issues with my 1520, the touch is fine on everything bar web browsers, I can work but not the best experience, and my microphone goes a bit deaf on phone calls, but it's fine on Skype...........

So the end is coming, but not for a few months as my eldest daughter is getting married this May and I need a new suit and stuff.

After nearly two years, I've decided to downgrade to a Lumia 830. I've always wanted one, and for less than $200, I jumped on the chance. I'm not getting rid of my 1520, though. It's nice having two phones that use nano SIMS.

Are the specs of the 830 similar to 1520? I checked the 640xl and it's specs are even close...

Aside from screen size, the 830 is much closer to the 640 XL. Here are the basics.

1520:
1080p screen
20MP camera
2GB RAM
Snapdragon 800

830:
720p screen
10MP camera
1GB RAM
Snapdragon 400

640 XL:
720p screen
13MP camera
1GB RAM
Snapdragon 400
