AT&T Sim swap question

Question for the group about AT&T even though its not really windows related. My daughter currently has an old iPhone 5 that we added to our plan. She strongly dislikes it. I've recently acquired an AT&T Galaxy S7 and would like to be able to use that. My question is can I just swap the sim cards and be good to go or will I need to actually take it to an AT&T store and pay to activate the "new" phone?

You should be able to just swap the SIM card from one phone to the other. The phone will just work within a few seconds. It might not even need a reboot. I use Verizon with factory unlocked phones, and I can hot swap SIM cards.
