Automatic GPS on Lumia 520

I don't know, whether it is happening only on my device. Whenever I open app's, I've noticed that few times a day, the GPS gets active automatically.
It remains active for merely 4-5 seconds. And this starts happening when I updated my device to Lumia 520 : Lumia Cyan+ WP8.1 Update 1.
Is this normal or happening here only?

The apps that can Use Location data can actually turn on GPS and you have turned ON Location services..
Go to Settings > location to change it if u dont want. or go to individual app and turn off location for them if settings provided by App

My Location services are already turned off. I mainly use it for navigation purposes only.
It also happens when I open my battery saver app.
And it is not happening to any particular app, just happens sometimes.

It's really unique from my experience. It's not possible for location to turn ON.

It is also new for me too. And I've also noticed that when I turn on battery saver, it shows up every time. It never happens on any previous updates, but after the WP 8.1 Update 1. it shows. And it is not also like a single time in a day, It happens frequently, may be 7-8 times a day.

Will suggest one thing now.. Soft Reset hold VolumeDown+Power for 10 Seconds and phone will restart. No data will be lost.You may have to set Date and Time.

+1 for soft reset. No phone has ever insisted to start up location service when you've turned it down. So this is plain strange!

Oh NO.. Just check if u have any updates.
Then just One question, why the two screenshots have different time formats? Just give us a screenshot of BingSearch or Cortana. it definitely USES location.

May be DOT just appears. i cant say it is Working to locate GPS or anything. if it doesnt hurt ur battery, just avoid or go for a hard reset..

Going for hard reset is that I can't think about. It takes whole day to setup again. And I'm just leaving it right now, till the next update. I just hope it doesn't hurt my battery.

Any luck finding solution for this issue.. I have 720 and same thing happened to me after 8.1 Update 1. Battery life become shorter. Need help

Yes it is.. But I don't remember having this issue before the update.. :|

Just to add, I notice this in my 1020 running Cyan. Definitely nothing to do with Denim or Update 1. Not sure what is causing it though.
