Back/Start Menu/Seach buttons not responding?

[Windows Central Question]

I am not sure if its a software problem or a hardare problem but earlier today the bottom 3 buttons on my HTC Windows 8.1x just stopped working...and everytime I go into a screen....I cant get back....and I have to restart my phone.....

Any ideas/suggestions??

A reboot fixes this?

To rule out software you should make a backup and then Reset your phone. Settings > about > reset your phone

If the problem persists, it is most likely hardware and you should seek repair.
