Background-sync not working on FitBit app. Is it just me?

I have a Lumia 920 with Cyan update, running the latest dev preview build. I updated the FitBit app when the latest update was released. With background-sync, I was expecting new data to be available when opening the app, and the livetile to be regularly updated without having to open up the app. Instead, synchronization still works exactly as it did before the update. Only syncs up when launching the app (and quite slow by the way), and my LiveTile still doesn't update unless I launch the app. So what does background-sync means for the Windows Phone version of this app? Or is it possible that it is not working as expected because I'm running the dev preview build (OS version 8.10.14192.280).

I went to Battery Saver settings and made sure FitBit is allowed to run in background. Wondering if anyone else if having similar issues, or if my expectations of the background-sync were wrong.

Any help is appreciated.

I am also running devpreview 8.10.14192.280 on my lumia 1020 and background syncing works with my Fitbit Zip.
I had to update my fitbit, though.
Does it automatically activate Bluetooth on your phone when you try syncing?
Also, sometimes I need to tap on the Zip a few times to "wake it up" before syncing. Else my phone does not recognize it.

I personally found it hit and miss on my 820, sometimes it would auto-sync, other times not.
To be honest I found it was easier to use the PC to sync, but only issue with that is then I get about 20 notifications on the phone near enough straight away (so app is working in background) mentioning I've hit my target, etc... Annoying.

Hopefully FitBit can fix this issue..
