Backup only backing up settings not apps

Hi all im preparing to send my 1520 away to its new owner but my back up is giving me problems,
Backup is only backing up settings and not apps so if i try to back up the apps it gets stuck on 8%, if i turn app back up off and only backs up settings it will back up fine.
im on 8.1.1 preview, ive deleted the preview app turned glance off and have no lock screen photo, tired soft reset & deleting old backups but still stuck

any ideas ???

This is happening to me too, I think you should move all of your apps to Phone before backing up (but I can't be certain)

i formatted the sd card and its no longer in the phone so im not sure thats the problem, unless its looking for those apps in which case itll never find them.

Do you have Live Lock Screen Beta or any other lock screen app active? I would always have a problem backing up if that app was active. Try changing the lock screen to photo or Bing and see if that helps.
