Hello all,
I have a band 2, and it works great, except that twice in the last week it has turned off for no reason. Holding the buttons down does not power back on. When I plug it into charger it gives me a warning that the battery died and I have to reset the time, but when I look at the battery status it still reads over 50%. Any ideas?

Thanks

I have since it happened the first time, and it happened again. Part of the problem is I cannot duplicate the issue. It has happened twice in four days.

I'd contact Microsoft Band Support as it sounds like a hw problem. I've no such issue with my Band 2

This happened to me several times in a span of two days. It turns out that this is a battery connection issue in the clasp; I was able to duplicate it once by slightly twisting the band. I took it to my local MS store and received a very good customer service. They swapped it for a new one. It may happen again but that's what the warranty is for, I guess. I bought Complete ($39) just in case, since I really do love the device.

I am having the same issue with mine but it doesn't matter what percentage the battery is at. The other day I was charging it while in the shower. I put it back on when I left for work. While I was at work I noticed it was off and wouldn't turn on at all. When I got back home, I connected to the charger again and it turned back on with a full battery. So I figured it was a weird fluke until last night when I set it for sleep tracking. When I woke up at 4am, it was off again and wouldn't turn on. I got out of bed and connected the charger which turned it back on and the battery was at 75%. I just did a factory reset so we'll see how this goes. Very disappointing though because its less than a month old. My 1st generation band clasp broke after 6 months and Microsoft wont repair under warranty because of "excessive use" or something like that even though i just use it for sleep and gym tracking. I would switch to another fitness band if there was one that had all the features this one does because I cant keep spending this kind of money for the things to break soon after.

Mine has done that several times in the last three days. I called tech support today and they wanted me to do a factory reset and see if that fixes it. I couldn't do it because my band died on the way to work and my charger was at home. I put it on the charger and it showed 0%. 5 min later it showed 57%. I did the factory reset but I never thought that would work. Hopefully they replace it. It shouldn't take Microsoft Complete to get a new one because its only 30+ days old.
