Hello,

I cannot buy a Microsoft Band in Canada at the Microsoft store, yet they sell Fitbit, Garmin, Jawbone and other variants of 'Smart Watches'. The reps have no explanation - but will always 'bring it up to management'.

What would be the reason for not having this product in Canada (or any other country)?

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Mr. V

Because "Microsoft".

The reason they gave was that they'd launch it only in the US to test out the product and the Band is supposed to just be a reference device to other OEMs, to show off the Microsoft Health platform.

So they have no plans to sell it globally?

Or do they want other third party watches to use their health platform?

They want other OEMs to produce wearables using their platform. As far as I know, there are no plans to release the Band worldwide.

I was hoping they would release the band. I naively thought that if it was made by Microsoft, it would natively work better with other MS products and services....

Q: Band not in Canada? Reason why?

A: We're still ticked about Justin Bieber.

Hey, makes about as much sense as anything else...
