Battery Charge Amount not accurate after fully charging

Anyone run into a situation where you have charged your 920 all the way (actually more than it needs, maybe like 3.5 hours), and when you unplug the charger, you scroll down in Settings, to Battery Saver, where it tells you (without having to go into that applet), your battery charge amount.

And sometimes, even with a full charge, it says only 95%, or 98%, I have to actually power it off, and back on, and then I see the 100% (?)

I've had the phone approximately a month and otherwise love it, no problems.

I actually ended out exchanging my previous 920 for a similar issue. It started like this after flashing to Amber/GDR2, and it got worse over time. I would charge overnight, and when I woke up, the percentage would be incorrect, but if I rebooted the device, it'd show 100% again. Eventually, it got to where the battery meter was so off that I didn't know exactly what my percentage was at any given time. I'd show 30% one minute, and the phone would power off 2 min later. I'd keep a watch on this if I were you...

I've got the same issue, though after rebooting it seems accurate. But every single time I charge it, I have to reboot or the software goes into battery saving mode. I'd love it if Nokia fixed this!

I don't think the battery % is EVER accurate, if you were looking for help the only advice provided here n wpcentral is: soft reset, if that does not solve the problem, then hard reset. Still have problems? then exchange your nokia because it is YOUR hardware which has a problem, not msft's software...
that advice is useful for ANY other problem that you may face with whichever device you have hahah

Thanks guys! Love it when I can read a thread and find a way to solve my problem! A soft boot appears to have fixed it.

My battery icon on the start page wouldn't advance farther than the 2/3 level. I though I had a charger problem and tried charging the phone by 3 different methods. When that didn't work I knew I had to hunt for a different root cause. I'm hopeful that the soft boot fixed it and that my battery is ok.

Sorry for the late response, but I don't think it's my hardware. Never happened until I upgraded to GDR2+Amber. At this point, though, I'm thinking about waiting to see if GDR3 fixes it. I don't really care that the battery indicator is inaccurate, except that it thinks that the battery is so low sometimes that the software turns it off. I turn it on again (when I notice it), and it's just fine for several hours. To be safe, I'm rebooting about 4 times a day. Annoying, but otherwise working.

It gets better with GDR3, I had this problem all the time with GDR2. I rarely have to restart my phone to get an accurate battery meter after I installed GDR3.

I have the same problem, the battery meter is incorrect but the phone goes on for a whole day even if its 100% charge or 78% it just goes on and the timing is good. I also had this problem after the amber GDR2 update and i hope they fix this problem in GD3 update. So looking forward to this

I have the same issue, phone on charge during the night, in the morning shows 70%. Soft reboot and phone shows 100%. Bad news is I have GDR3 so still no fix.

:( i was hoping gdr3 would solve it.. i still haevnt got the gdr3 for my lumia 920... i think i should go to nokia care and see what they have to say.. does it affect the battery time as well?

I've noticed on my 1520 that if I reboot it in the morning after being plugged in all night it will show 96%. If I leave it plugged in it will charge back up to 100% in about 10 minutes. I think this is caused by the charger shutting off when the battery hits 100% sometime during the night. The battery drains a little but the charger does not come back on.

Sent from my RM-940 using magic....
