Battery drain

I was curious if anyone else has been experiencing battery drain with the 1020? I downloaded a battery app and with light phone use it is telling me that my phone is discharging at 10% an hour! Is this normal for the 1020?

Funny you say that, I updated my 1020 on Sunday, I always charge my phone overnight, I downloaded an app from the store and found I was at 30%!!! In less than 2 minutes. What's worse is that my phone gets super hot while charging. So yea, I'm getting severe battery drain. But what's more annoying is this stupid "no connection" everytime I wake up my phone!! I have to close the app and rr enter my search and wait for the data to engage! This happens all the time with full bars (lte/4g)! Annoying!

There's battery drain with my 920 too, and I even disabled a lot of background tasks. :'(

Yea it's been quite annoying. I updated to 8.1 and had to hard reset due to my messaging app sometimes crashing on me (this was prior to the upgrade). Before the hard reset, the battery app showed an average of 5% battery drain. After the reset and the upgrade to 8.1, the app showed an average of 2.5% drain. Which was excellent! But today when I woke up it's been at 6% and up, and now peaking at around 9-10%!

I have a 920, and experienced a dramatic battery drain on Thursday. This was unusual because I never have battery problems. I later realized that I was getting a false report of battery drain. My phone was actually charged to 100%.

I would suggest first making sure that you really have a battery drain problem.

My 1020 loses roughly 2% per hour over night since the 8.1 update

Try charging the batter full... Then completely draining/discharging it until it shuts down... Then charge completely again , then discharge down to 80%...then charge to 100 again

Sounds silly but it was recommended to me and it seems to have worked

All u guys on 8.1...go to battery saver and unallow the apps that r active which u dont need....then go to yr email setting and change mail receiving to 15 or evry 30 mins...coz by default its push mail as it arrives and tat drains your battery

I removed Cortana as i never used 'her' and reverted back to UK language, location etc...

My battery life has doubled

Ok nice....can u tell me wats your battery life now....I just did few setting and now iam gettinf 24 hrs of medium use

Now iam getting very good battery life....with standby phone doing nothing it shows 4 days....with use its show around 18 hours to 24 hours which is awesome with contana on....6 to 7 background apps...location on....double tap on....only setting I did was made my mail sync every 30 mins and stop many background apps I dont need....
