Battery keeps draining fast!

My battery keeps dropping fast on my SP3 on sleep mode. Wonder if there's any fix yet. Last night I had it at 35% charge and I put it to sleep. Woke up this morning and it was dead. It dropped from 35% to 6% in 4hrs(checked the battery report). This is really annoying as I thought it could last up to a year on connected stand by. Of coarse I don't expect that but now I might have to turn it off completely if I want to preserve battery. That defeats the purpose of using it as a tablet where I can just pick up where I left off like the ipad. :eck:

the ppl at the microsoft store says that its a known issue with the newest firmware update. "Some" devices are affected. I suggest you take yours to the nearest store to show them.

In my experience, and sadly I have quite a bit, the people in the Microsoft Store in Scottsdale considered a clean reset to be a first order selection for any Surface problem. Surface phone support, in the other hand, were quite helpful and all but admitted that store staff are only qualified to handle the basics. I would encourage anyone with a problem to consider going to those who will walk through all the alternatives and have some degree of training. I also wouldn't trust anything that a store employee might say about firmware problems. Again, try the real Surface support - they know what they are doing. .
