Battery Life

I just got my Focus S and I have to charge it 2-3 times w/in 24 hours:( I'm not very happy about that? Any suggestions. I'm not even a heavy user. I don't talk on phone much I mainly use it for texts and some times to check email. I don't surf the web at all on it and don't listen to music etc. I'm not sure if there is some sort of setting I should change or what to get better battery time? I thought my Motorola Bravo was bad:( This phone is even worse....I do like a lot of other things about the phone, but not sure if I want to keep it because of the battery being so crappy.

Are you usually in an area with poor reception? That will drain the battery fast. Otherwise you might have a defective battery. 2-3 times a day with light use isn't normal.

This may help you guys...I had pretty bad battery drain right after I got the phone, then one day I let the battery drain all the way to zero/shutdown. I charged it up full after that and since then I'm getting 2 days worth of battery time with the same settings. Might be worth a try for some of you.

I'm averaging 16 hours/day. Moderate usage.

Sent from my Samsung Focus S using Board Express.

Sudden drain

I have had my Focus S for several months, and the battery has always been great, getting 1.5-2 days of use, with autoupdate for email, and a few other apps. However, in the last couple of days, my battery has been draining from full charge to nothing in a matter of a few hours. I have not installed any new apps, and my signal appears strong (3-4 bars with 4G). I even tried turning off wifi, and it was the same issue.

A few posters previously mentioned microcells... what is that, how do I know if my phone is using one, and if so, how do I stop it?

The only other thing I can think of is that I installed the auto updates for a few of my apps recently... facebook, and a few other things, but I can't remember.

Anyone else have a similar problem recently?
