Battery question?

I'm seeing both of my batteries draining at the same time. I was under the impression that the battery in the dock drained first and then the one in the screen? I thought this was so that you could always undock without having to worry about battery. Is this not true? Draining both at the same time makes the tablet portion way less useful.

My initial research shows that this is likely normal behavior. I can see it from a long term battery health perspective. Wish we could have the opportunity to fine tune how this behavior happens. I'd like the ability to allow use of screen battery after a certain percentage of base battery is used.
